But this rule doesn’t apply to the auction market. Recently, 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 S NART Spider got sold at RM’s Pebble Beach auction. The price was amazing and by keeping in mind the real story of this car, this price is still worth it!

The owner of Month Tremblant Circuit purchased it by the last bid of 25 Million USD. With all those commissions and other charges, 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 S NART Spider was handed over to its new owner at $27.5 million.

Ferrari 275 is actually a series of models manufactured from 1964 – 1968. Ferrari 275 GTB NART is equipped with the V12 engine mounted on the front. It’s two-seated model with convertible body type. With manual 5-speed gearbox, it’s a Rear-Wheel-Drive. Being a sports car, it can goat 162 mph (260 km/h) with the torque of 294 Nm / 217 lb-ft.



With a bigger engine, it consumes big as well! Ferrari NART engine runs on petrol (gasoline) and its average fuel consumption is 21.5 liters per 100km.

When Ferrari 275 NART was initially launched, its cost revolves around the range of $10,000 to $14,500. But its price in the auction was record-shattering.

Mr. Eddie Smith (Senior), bought his very first 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 S NART Spider after great struggles. Right from the state of orphanage, he grew up building and accomplishing some new milestones daily. After his great success in the business of National Wholesale, Eddie started to collect Ferraris, as cars were everything to him.

Just to elaborate Mr. Eddie’s love with his car, we have a great memory of him with his son. He was once racing a12-hour-drive in a marathon with his son, Eddie Jr. Eddie Sr took over controls from his son and asked him not to ruin his average by driving it slow. He was areal racer!

He got many offers from well-known and famous racers Steve McQueen and Chinetti, but Eddie didn’t sell his car because it was everything to him. Eddie considered his car to be one of his family members. After Eddie passed, his son started to feel it as his own and after all those years, this car has finally been sold in RM’s Pebble Beach auction.
